Task:
Develop program learning outcomes for each program/general education area.
Steps:
- Write 5-8 program learning outcomes - each associate dean liaison will guide the process of program learning outcome development. For additional assistance, please download the learning outcomes workbook (click here) or contact the Office of Institutional Research & Effectiveness (IRE).
- Develop the program map grid - To ensure coverage of the program learning outcomes in the program courses, indicate the level of coverage that each course has in relation to the program learning outcomes. You may choose to use the worksheet (click here).
- Tie the program learning outcomes to the general education learning outcomes - (click here for the general education learning outcomes) - This step involves tieing the program learning outcomes to the general education learning outcomes - which are supported by the program? You may choose to use the worksheet (click here).
- Submit the above information on the Program Learning Outcomes Web Tool for review- IRE has developed a Web Tool that will allow you to submit your program learning outcomes, general education learning outcomes supported and your program map grid electronically. This easy-to-use web tool can be accessed by clicking here. For detailed information on using the Web Tool, click here to download the manual. The Web Tool requires that you login using your full Palm Beach State email address (example: mailto:doej@palmbeachstate.edu) and your network password.
