The Palm Beach State women's basketball team finished their turn around season by making it to the Final four of the FCCAA tournament before losing to a strong Gulf Coast Team that advanced to the National tournament. The Panthers finished with an overall record of 21-7 and 10-2 in the Southern Conference advancing to the "Elite Eight" which has not happened since 2004.
The FCCAA All Tournament Team included Tyfanni Fenwick and Triin Teppo. In addition, Viviana Penate made the FCCAA All State and NJCAA All Region 8 team with her overall body of work during the season.
Coach Kris Ruffo was named the Coach of the Year for 2009-2010 in the Southern Conference.

The Palm Beach State women's basketball team celebrated sophomore appreciation day by defeating St. Pete 67-57. Leading 38-30 at the half the Panthers came out and extended their lead to 20 points before settling for the 10 point victory in their last regular season game. The Panthers were led by Schwanna Dunmore with 15 point and 9 rebounds, Tyffani Fenwick collected 13 points, Krystal Delph had a double/double (12 points, 10 rebounds) and ViVi Penate finished her regular season Panther career with 10 points. The Panthers finish their regular season with a 20-6 record and 10-2 in the Southern Conference.

In a tense back and forth struggle between two of the top three teams in the Southern Conference, the Panthers went on the road Wednesday evening and secured their first birth in the "elite eight" of the FCCAA State tournament since 2004 by defeating Hillsborough 73-68. The game was tied with 24 seconds to go and Hillsborough had the ball. As she has done many times this year, the Panthers ViVi Penate stole the ball and dished to Triin Teppo for the go ahead layup with 16 seconds left. Hillsborough then proceeded to turn the ball over again and Tiffany Fenwick made 1 of 2 free throws on the foul. To seal the win the third time was a charm as Hillsborough turned the ball over for the last time as and Brittany Toraine made two free throws.
For the game Fenwick had 21 points, 5 assists and 5 steals, Penate collected 17 points, 8 assists and 5 steals, Schwanna Dunmore had a double/double (13 pts. 10 rebounds) and Krystal Delph contributed 7 points and 10 rebounds.

The women continue to roll as they defeated Brevard on the road Saturday afternoon. Leading by 16 at the half Palm Beach State played a nearly flawless 13 minutes of basketball to begin the second half pushing their lead to 29 and were never threatened the rest of the way. The win moves the Panthers record to 18-6 overall and 8-2 in the Southern Conference. The Panthers control their destiny, if they win their last two they will qualify for the elite eight and the FCCAA State finals.

The Palm Beach State College Panthers continued their quest for a state tournament bid by defeating Miami Dade 82-77 in a physical battle on Wednesday Feb 3 in Elisabeth Erling gym and then backed that up with an incredible road win against the #13 ranked team in the country, Indian River, 79-71 on Saturday Feb 6.
In the Dade victory, the Panthers shot 30-38 from the free throw line and survived 28 offensive rebounds by the opponents. Vivi Penate led the women with 32 points ( career high). Other Panthers in double figures included Tiffany Fenwick with 13, TeCharla Mars 13, Triin Teppo 11 and Schwanna Dunmore 10. Teppo and Fenwick led PBSC with 8 and 6 rebounds respectively.
Saturday the Panthers were at their best as they led by as many as 21 during the game and ended the contest winning by 8. Penate was a stat sheet stuffer as she collected 23 points, 9 assists and 5 rebounds while Teppo contributed 17 points, Dunmore had 16 points and 7 assists and Fenwick had 11 points.
PBSC now is 17-6 overall and 6-2 in the Southern Conference good for second place.

Riding the high of a 51 point second half and defeating Hillsborough on Wednesday evening the Panther women dropped 50 in the first half against Broward in route to a 80-37 win on Saturday afternoon in Davie. The Panthers hit 8 of their first 9 shots and were up 50-17 at the break. Palm Beach had great balanced scoring again as Triin Teppo and Schwanna Dunmore both had 18, Vivi Penate collected 14 and Tiffany Fenwick scored 11. Dunmore also had 5 steals while Penate led the 15-6 (5-2, Southern Conference) Panthers with 6 assists.

The Palm Beach State women's basketball team came out with all the offensive guns slinging as they defeated conference rival and #8 FCCAA rated Hillsborough, 89-79 in Elisabeth Erling Gym Wednesday evening. Leading 38-37 at the half the Panthers scored 51 points (season high) in the second stanza to outlast the Lady Hawks. Sophomore standout ViVi Penate led the offensive onslaught with 29 points (7 three's) and Tiffany Fenwick chipped in with 24. With the victory the Panthers vaulted themselves back into the conference race in a tie for 2nd with a 4-2 record and moved their season mark to 14-6.

The Palm Beach State women's basketball team took a step backwards Saturday as they were defeated on the road by St. Pete, 63-57. The game was an ugly affair as the Panthers shot only 36% from the floor (11% below their season average) and 67% from the free throw line (6% below their season average). Krystal Delph continued her consistent play as she produced a double-double ( 16 points, 15 rebounds) but she was the only one that stood out in this disappointing loss. The defeat drops the Panthers into 3rd place in the Southern Conference as they face a critical game on Wednesday against the 2nd place team, Hillsborough in Elisabeth Erling Gym.

In a sloppily played game from the normal efficiency and execution the Panther women have displayed during the course of the season, Palm Beach State outlasted Brevard Wednesday evening 84-78. Leading 39-31 at halftime the Panthers allowed the lead to slip away by a 14-0 run at the beginning of the half by Brevard and it was a dogfight from that point on. Krystal Delph and Viviana Penate hit two critical three's late in the game to secure the women their 13th victory in 18 tries this season and moved their Southern Conference record to 3-1.

The #10 FCCAA rated women's basketball team defeated #6 Santa Fe Saturday afternoon in a thriller in Elisabeth Erling gym, 78-75. The game was a battle in momentum shifts and the Panthers got the last one. Trailing 65-59 with 4:38 to go in the game. Palm Beach State went on a 10-0 run and then held off the visiting Saints for their 12th victory of the year. The Panthers were led by point guard Viviana Penate with 24 points and 9 assists, Tiffany Fenwick collected 17 points, TeCharla Mars chipped in with 13 points and 7 rebounds and Schwanna Dunmore had 12 points and 9 rebounds.

The 19th ranked team in the country (Indian River) defeated the Panthers on Wednesday 77-63 in Elisabeth Erling gym in front of a healthy, enthusiastic Palm Beach State College crowd. The Panthers were led by sophomore Krystal Delph with 17 points and 10 rebounds and Schwann Dunmore with 11 points and 10 rebounds. PBSC shot 10% below their season average from the field. The loss drops the Panthers into 2nd place in the conference at 2-1 and 11-5 overall.

The Palm Beach State College women continued their solid play of late as they won their 8th game in the last 9 outings 67-46 against Jamestown (NY) in Elisabeth Erling gym this afternoon. The Panthers stretched an 8 point halftime lead to double digits early in the second half and were never threatened. Sophomore returnees ViVi Penate ( 16 pts, 12 assists) and Krystal Delph (15 pts, 12 rebounds) led a balanced attack in the win.

The Palm Beach State College women continue to play competitive basketball as they won four of five games over the holiday period and since losing their first 2 games of the season have won 10 of their last 12. PBSC now has a regular season record of 10-4 and are 2-0 in the Southern Conference. In their latest string of games PBSC defeated Atlanta Metro 72-53, Oakton (IL) 86-24, Monroe (NY) 70-59 and Community College of Rhode Island 74-42. The Panthers only defeat during this recent stretch was a loss to Indian River (80-72) on December 19.

The Panther women seem to be hitting their stride as they came away with back to back victories on Tuesday and Wednesday this week with wins over Miami Dade (72-69) and North Central Missouri College (68-48) In the process the PBSC women have moved their season record to 6-3 and they stand atop the Southern Conference with a 2-0 record.

A stifling defense and a 45 point second half propelled the PBCC women's basketball team to a Southern Conference victory, 71-24, over Broward on Wednesday evening in Elisabeth Erling gym. Leading the way for the Panthers was sophomore Krystal Delph with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 7 steals while Tiffany Fenwick collected 11 points, 5 assists and 5 steals. PBCC moved their regular season record to 4-3 and they are 1-0 in the Southern Conference.

The PBCC women returned to action on Dec 4 and 5 and came away with a split in their weekend games. On Friday the Panthers took on the #5 team in the country, Northwest Florida State College and gave them everything they wanted before dropping a 52-46 decision. Tiffanny Fenwick collected 11 points and 9 rebounds and Schwanna Dunmore produced a double- double with 10 points and 12 rebounds.
On Saturday PBCC played a solid game from start to finish as they defeated Florida State College @ Jacksonville 69-50. Triin Teppo led the team with 22 points and 8 rebounds and Fenwick had her second straight solid game with 13 points and 5 assists.

The women's basketball team received a solid defensive effort in a hard fought game on Saturday November 12, defeating the Miami Rain 70-65. In the process PBCC evened its' season record to 2-2. Schwanna Dunmore and Vivi Penate led the Panthers in scoring with 17 and 16 points respectively while Triin Teppo collected 10 rebounds. Dunmore also had 4 blocks and 4 steals to be the stat sheet stuffer of the day.

The injury riddled Panther women earned a tough victory on Wednesday night as they defeated Daytona State for their first victory of the season, 74-67. The Panthers were in control most of the game receiving a scare on a late run by Daytona State but sealed the victory with late free throws down the stretch. with the win the Panthers record is now 1-2 on the young season.

The PBCC women's basketball team dropped two game over the weekend in the Sante Fe shootout in Gainesville. On Friday evening the Panthers lost to the host school 92-81. Leading scorers for PBCC were Tiffani Fenwick with 22 and Schwanna Dunmore with 15. On Saturday PBCC dropped a tough overtime loss to Central Florida 82-79. Leading scorers for the Panthers were ViVi Penate with 18 points ( 4-4 from 3), Triin Teppo with 14 and Schwanna Dunmore with 12. Penate also collected 9 assists and Dunmore gathered in 14 rebounds
