
Chapter 1008 establishes regulations related to testing, school improvement and grading, providing information and feedback on school performance, and postsecondary accountability processes. It also creates a Council for Educational Policy Research and Improvement.
Part I relates mostly to testing in K-12 schools, but it does establish the College Level Academic Skills Test (CLAST) and a common placement testing program (CPT).
Part II establishes the means to measure accountability of all K-20 institutions. In community colleges, this translates to things such as workforce education and job placement, as well as a means to track such students (Florida Education and Traning Placement Information Program, or FETPIP).
