This chapter defines the legislature's intention to provide a seamless K-20 educational system by establishing relationships between all levels of public education in Florida, thereby allowing students to transfer smoothly between levels and efficiently complete their educational objectives.
Part II provides much of the authority for the typical academic affairs operations, including college readiness, statewide community college-to-university articulation, interinstitutional articulation, common-course numbering, general education, prerequisites, degree requirements, foreign language competency, admission, acceleration, dual enrollment and advanced placement, and a computerized student advisement system.
Part III concerns access to postsecondary education, including limited access programs, issues related to transfer students, baccalaureate degrees at community colleges and "reach-out" programs for educationally disadvantaged students.
