This chapter provides general provisions and definitions for the operation of postsecondary educational institutions.
Part I establishes the purpose and mission of Florida's postsecondary educational system. Also covered are criteria for establishing educational and teacher preparation programs at community colleges and universities.
Part III is specific to community colleges, defining their mission and responsibilities, including granting the authority to establish performance standards and award associate degrees. Special programs and educational centers, such as child development training centers, are also covered in this part.
Part IV relates to workforce development education. Here, the statutes define career, adult general and community education, as well as adult and workforce literacy programs.
