Summer Youth College Scholarships
Summer Youth College offers a few scholarships each year on its Lake Worth Campus. Scholarships are awarded on a matching funds basis only. For example, if the recipient wishes to take 6 classes, the scholarship (if approved) will pay for three. The recipient must pay for the remaining three classes. Recipients must take all six classes and will be able to choose their courses.
A family in need of financial aid must write a letter indicating their circumstances and why assistance is necessary. Please read this letter and fill out the contact sheet attached and return to the SYC Office. A family must meet one of the following criteria to be considered:

Loss of job, single parent with financial hardship, medical hardship, etc.

The child currently receives free or reduced lunch at his/her school. Please provide a copy of the eligibility letter.

Child is receiving state sponsored health insurance.

The child attends Diamond View Elementary School, our adopted school, and receives free or reduced lunch.

One or both of the parents are students at Palm Beach Community College. Please include parents’ PBCC Student ID number.
Letters of interest must be submitted by May 18th, 2009 and must include day and evening contact telephone numbers and e-mail address if one is available.

Scholarship awards will be announced no later that June 12th.
Scholarship money is not applied to Wind up and Wind down sessions.
