As with institution courses, finding courses at the state level can be done either through a search or a browse using various criteria, including institution name, prefix, number range, titles and descriptions.
Note that state course numbers are only three digits long because they do not take into account the level at which the course is offered (1000 level, 2000 level, etc.) It is up to institutions to decide at which level they wish to offer a course. The search engine will still ask for a four-digit course number, even though it will return findings with only three digits. This search tool would likely be useful for determining the course number for a new course.
There are two tabs at the top of the screen:
Search Statewide Courses Searching will take you directly to the course that you request, but it may require knowledge of course titles, descriptions, century and decade numbering structure and other keywords to be most effective.
Browse Statewide Courses Browsing will allow you to find a class by either the discipline or course number and examine the course numbering structure more closely. However, it might take you longer to locate the course that you are looking for, as you may have to scan numerous courses to find the one you want.
