| SCNS: Find an Institution |
There is not really much to locating a participating institution through SCNS. When you come to the search engine, you will notice that you have three criteria on which you can search:
- The institution abbreviation -- typically a 3-4 character unique abbreviation for each participating institution,
- The name of the institution, and
- The Florida county.
|
|
| For our purposes, let's locate all participating institutions in Palm Beach County.
From the county drop down menu, simply scroll down until you reach Palm Beach, select it, and then press search. |

This search shows all of the institutions in Palm Beach County, both public and private, that participate in SCNS. Notice that Palm Beach Community College and Florida Atlantic University are participating institutions, along with three technical institutions and one private professional school.

Selecting the linked abbreviation brings you to a page where you can search for a course at that institution. (For now, do not do this. This function will be covered later.)

|
In the next set of exercises, you will learn how to find a course at the institution level by doing either a search or a browse.
