Welcome to Palm Beach Community College – Florida’s first public community college. Since 1933, PBCC has made students our first priority and student success our #1 goal.
We recognize that each student is a unique individual with different needs and goals. Our teacher-to-student ratio of 1:23 allows for smaller, more individualized classes, and our faculty members represent some of the best educators in their fields. They are dedicated to their students and to helping them achieve their dreams. PBCC wants students to “Expect More” from themselves and from PBCC, and our outstanding faculty help make that happen. Being a state-supported institution allows PBCC to provide affordable, quality education and training opportunities for all individuals in the College’s service area. Our students include those who want to earn a 2-year degree and possibly transfer to a 4-year university, those who want to earn a certificate and go right to work, and those who simply need to update their skills, renew their licensure or want to learn more about various topics. PBCC serves the entire community. To effectively serve a district as large and diverse as Palm Beach County, PBCC has four convenient locations in Belle Glade, Boca Raton, Lake Worth and Palm Beach Gardens. Great things are happening everyday at our campuses. Some recent examples from PBCC News include: - PBCC offering free construction classes to Glades area workers
- PBCC partnering with Indian River Community College to offer Nuclear Medicine and Sonography programs to meet multi-county needs via distance learning
- PBCC implementing new technology such as wireless networking and podcasting to make learning more convenient for students
- PBCC breaking ground on three new classroom buildings – a biotechnology/science complex in Palm Beach Gardens, science in Lake Worth and humanities and technology in Boca Raton.
In addition, in 2006, PBCC received over $10 million in external funding to address critical workforce shortages and emerging needs. PBCC’s continuing commitment to student success has characterized the College for over 75 years. We encourage you to get involved, ask questions, and find out what PBCC has to offer for you.
