PALM BEACH STATE COLLEGE MONTESSORI EARLY CHILDHOOD TEACHER TRAINING PROGRAM SEEKS TO:
a) provide the highest quality Montessori training using experienced, qualified instructors at the most affordable cost to make this training accessible to students from the broadest range of socio-economic backgrounds.
b) provide students with a thorough understanding of the Montessori lessons and curriculum areas at this level while at the same time emphasizing that Montessori is child-centered, not lesson-centered.
c) provide students with a thorough understanding of child development from Montessori's perspective, so that they will come to understand that each child is an individual who is developing at his/her own rate.
d) provide students with the assistance they need to combine their knowledge of Montessori curriculum and Montessori's stages of development to become the caretakers of the prepared environment and the link between that environment and the child so that each child may develop to his/her full potential.
e) provide a training schedule which allows the student the opportunity to integrate and implement, on a weekly basis, what is taught.
