Diversity Awareness

Palm Beach Community College is committed to a diverse academic and working environment. The college requires that all full-time and part-time employees complete online training session: Creating an Environment of Mutual Respect: Valuing Diversity for a Stronger PBCC within the first thirty (30) days of their employment. This training will provide employees with an overview of the College's Diversity Programs, the demographics of our college community, and ways to get involved in diversity efforts throughout the year. Presentations by various memebers of the College staff highlight the diversity efforts taking place and opportunities for faculty and staff to encourage and participate in ensuring that PBCC remains an environment in which our differences are valued and celebrated.

You will need Internet Explorer and access to the College Intranet through either an on-campus computer or VPN access in order to complete this training. Please be sure to set aside forty minutes to complete the training.

Message from the President
Dear Colleagues:

As our college prepares to face new and exciting challenges, our success will depend upon the collective talents and skills of all of our employees. Understanding, embracing and integrating a variety of individual differences and experiences are critical ingredients needed for us to work together to achieve the vision and mission of the college. I am proud that we have made diversity a strategic priority and have done so much on all of our campuses to promote diversity college-wide.

I am also pleased that we have implemented our diversity awareness program, "Mutual Respect: The Bottom Line." Through this training, we will gain further understanding and appreciation of differences and how diversity can be a catalyst to increasing creativity, innovative thinking and productivity at the College.

I appreciate each of you taking the time to participate in this training and for helping make PBCC an even better work and educational environment.

Dr. Dennis P. Gallon, President
