Weekend/Evening Nursing Program

The Nursing Program at PBCC is committed to providing the best education for students seeking an Associate of Science Degree (AS) in Nursing. The exciting, new curriculum is designed to facilitate the care of clients within the parameters of the health care field in this, the new millennium. The conceptual framework is based on a holistic approach utilizing the Goal Attainment Theory of Imogene King coupled with the work of Barbara Dossey. Nursing Faculty create a learning environment through a team teaching methodology.

The Weekend/Evening Nursing cohort is located on the Lake Worth campus, only. Admissions are accepted annually. The application deadline is October 1st for January admissions. Pre-requisites are those listed for the Full-Time program.

Classes are scheduled during evening hours with clinical experiences provided on weekends. This scheduling allows flexibility to working members of the healthcare team seeking advancement to Registered Nurse status. This development of this program was initially supported, in part, by funds from the Palm Health Care Foundation.

Upon graduation, students are awarded an associate of science degree and are eligible for the National Council Licensing Exam (NCLEX) to become a registered nurse (RN). Any individual with an arrest record is advised to seek counseling regarding possible limitations towards licensure prior to applying for entrance.
