
10th 11th and 12th grade students interested in the Dual Enrollment programs must meet all program requirements prior to registering for courses at PBCC. Students need to:
- have a minimum cumulative 3.00 GPA or HPA for credit courses. The only exception to this is for 12th graders who have cumulative GPA/HPA between 2.5 and 3.00; they are eligible to enroll only for SLS1501, Strategies for College Success. Students enrolling in a vocational certificate program (the 40 hour child care PSAV program is currently the only vocational program approved for dual enrollment) must have a cumulative 2.00 GPA.
- provide official scores on the ACT, SAT or CPT and have the appropriate scores for the courses in which they are enrolling. The CPT is given at the Testing Centers of each campus of PBCC. No placement test is necessary for the 40 hour PSAV child care certificate program.
- submit a college application.
- obtain and submit to the Admissions Department at any campus of PBCC a signed "Dual Enrollment Permission and Registration" form from their high school counselor indicating course selection(s). NOTE: This form must also be signed by a parent or guardian.
- Receive a grade of "C" or better or all college coursework.
Passing Placement Test Scores:
SAT: 440 Verbal, 440 Math
ACT: 18 Reading, 17 English, 19 Math
CPT: 83 Reading, 83 Sentence Skills, 72 Elementary Algebra
EARLY ADMISSION FROM HIGH SCHOOL
Early admission is a form of dual enrollment which allows high school seniors to attend PBCC full time, earning credits toward a high school diploma and associate degree. High school seniors meeting all requirements for enrollment, may upon written recommendation of their high school principal, enroll full time at Palm Beach Community College during the Fall and Spring terms. Interested students should contact their high school principal or designee.
In addition to the minimum requirements listed above, Early Admission students must meet following requirements:
- Submit a letter of recommendation/authorization from the high school principal on school letterhead the first term
- Maintain 2.0 or higher college GPA (overall) to stay in the program.
- Take a minimum of 12 credits in the Fall and/or in the Spring semesters.
