Palm Beach Community College has been awarded two federal grants (September 1, 2006) totaling $440,000 to continue the Educational Talent Search Program for another four years and expand it to include additional middle and high schools in Palm Beach County!
TRIO Educational Talent Search at Palm Beach Community College is a free program that identifies and assists individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds who have the potential to succeed in higher education. The program provides academic counseling, career exploration and assessment, student financial aid assistance, college entrance information, SAT preparation, college application assistance and college visits, field trips and tutoring to eligible middle school and high school students at nineteen target schools in Palm Beach County. The goal of Talent Search is to increase the number of youths from disadvantaged backgrounds who complete high school and enroll in postsecondary education institutions of their choice.
