
T he General Education Review for 2009 will be a review of the AS/AAS general education degree courses.
In this review, faculty, department chairs, program managers, deans and associate deans will review the general education courses that have been selected for each AS/AAS degree program.
Instructions:
1. Download the review form - click here
2. One review form should be completed for each degree (AS and AAS). If a degree has an option of AS or AAS, separate forms must be completed for each degree as the general education varies. (Degree Assignments - click here)
3. The designated person, working with other faculty, department chairs and associate deans, will review the current general education courses and determine if the courses meet the criteria stated in Florida statue, board policy and SACS. These criteria are included at the end of the form as well as on this website. IN addition, a narrative as to how the selected cousres meets the program's curriculum and outcomes must be included. The completed form must be approved by the cluster at the Fall Development Day meeting.
4. If proposed changes are made to the current general education courses, these changes must be processed through the regular curriculum process during the Fall term.
5. A meeting will be held August 19 following convocation to discuss your assessment. Please bring a draft of the form with you at that time. The final version of the form will be due November 2, 2009.
