Community Partnerships
1) The Florida Park Service has instituted an award winning “Parknership” program with the college allowing many of our students to excel in wildlife research and achieve publication in scientific journals along with the respect of experts in the field. We have been awarded the Davis Award for our part in this effort. Palm Beach State also has a partnership with Grassy Waters Preserve to host internships as well as community environmental education events.

2) Environmental Resources Management (ERM) of Palm Beach County is a proud partner with Palm Beach State's internship program. Students can now participate on a variety of activities at local Natural Areas overseen by ERM. Program Grants Received
Non-native Vegetation Removal Grant – featured in the Perspectives 8-17-04 on the nature trail/restoration.

You are invited to come and walk along the nature trail and learn about the rare pond apple habitat located on the campus. Contact Prof. Jessica Miles, 561-207-5220 (or milesj@palmbeachstate.edu) for more information on planting dates and how you can be involved.

We extend our thanks to the Palm Beach County Department of Environmental Resources for providing this grant opportunity and awarding us the funding to proceed with environmental restoration for the benefit of native plants and animals, the students, and the community.

Audubon Foundation for the Environment - Palm Beach State's Environmental Science program was awarded a grant from the Audubon Foundation for the Environment in May 2005 to support student scholarships.

In particular the scholarships will go towards students attending the program's Tropical Ecology course which includes a field study component to Belize. Students learn in a hands-on fashion and participate in international projects in conjunction with the Audubon Society.
