Florida Air Conditioning Apprentice Association

This PSAV programs is a combination of on-the-job training and related classroom instruction offered by Palm Beach State for a private sector sponsor that is registered with the apprenticeship registration agency (Florida Department of Education).
Curriculum
The FACAA program offers CPR, First Aid, OSHA Safety Regulations, EPA Certification, NATE Certification, Fiberglass Duct Certification as well as fundamentals in basic indoor air quality and energy management.
Also included are fluids and pressures, compression cycle components, refrigeration, piping material, fiberglass duct fundamentals, basic electricity, blueprint reading, heat loads, system design, humidity control, customer relations, heat pump controls, duct design, meter devices, schematic reading and low voltage wiring.

Certificates and Degrees
Palm Beach State College awards students who complete their apprenticeship a Post Secondary Adult Vocational Training Certificate. In addition, Palm Beach State College has developed an articulation process for journey workers to receive 24 credits toward the Industrial (Operations) Management AAS degree.
