Profile: Recognized for his work on behalf of PBCC in the surrounding community. His efforts have brought positive recognition, not only to the Duncan Theatre whose programs have sold out three years in a row and made the Palm Beach Post art pages numerous times during season, but also for the College as a whole. When assigned coordination duties for the Lake Worth adopted school program Mark went above and beyond what was expected of him in this role by joining and becoming active in the school's SAC. His efforts in partnering with the school have resulted in the College receiving two silver awards and the gold award for public sector service from the Palm Beach County School District.

Janette Campbell, Associate Professor, Lake Worth
Profile: Dedication to PBCC resulted in the College receiving one of six grants to host a travelling workshop in teach Statistics from the National Science Foundation. Janette did not hesitate to assume the burden of this project. Working many extra hours to secure the grant, arranged for the many logistical considerations, and coordinated with the Palm Beach County School Board and members of the American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges to encourage participation. Thirty-one participants, including PBCC faculty and adjunct faculty members, as well as teachers of high school statistics and professors from other Florida colleges attended the workshop "Teaching Introductory Statistics with Activities and Data" on March 27, 2009. This focus was on helping introductory statistics students to discover statistical ideas, explore statistical concepts, and engage in statistical thinking. The workshop provided a responsive curriculum in Statistics, which will enable students to think creatively and compete effectively.

Allan Lewis, Security Officer, Lake Worth
Profile: When a medical emergency occurs on a PBCC campus, security staff are called upon to direct emergency personnel to the individual in need of assistance, secure the area and ensure that the disruption to normal operations is minimized as much as possible. Allan went above and beyond these responsibilities in two separate instances this spring, once when a student was struck by a vehicle, and again when an employee experienced a medical emergency while at work. He conducted a thorough assessment of each individual’s condition and ensured that information was conveyed to 911 dispatchers. He then personally administered aid to the individuals, saving valuable minutes for the EMS responders and ensuring that medical attention was received as quickly as possible. In one instance, his actions may have saved a life.
