1. Find all the important dates for the fall term. Go to www.pbcc.edu and select Academic Calendar at the top of the page. Classes begin on Aug. 21, but, do you know when the last day to add and drop a class, the last day to withdraw, etc.? All this information can be found on the Academic Calendars as well as your student home page.

2. Do you have what it takes to be a leader? Enhance your leadership skill through PBCC's Center for Student Leadership. This free program is open to all students with at least a 2.0 GPA. The program includes workshops and seminars, travel to conferences with other student leaders, tools for self discovery, leadership certification, and more. To receive more details and/or apply, visit www.pbcc.edu/csl.xml.

3. Change your PIN number and answer your security question to ensure that you have access to PantherWeb. You must know your PIN number to access PantherWeb. Go to www.pbcc.edu/pantherweb.xml and log on under "Personal Information" to update your PIN. Then select security question under "Details" to help you change your PIN if you lose it or forget it.

4. Activate your student e-mail. You have been assigned a Student E-mail account for official communication. We have already created your my.pbcc.edu e-mail address. Your new PBCC e-mail address appears on your PantherWeb Home Page. Here is a link that will help you activate your my.pbcc e-mail if you haven't already done so.

Remember all official communication is sent to your my.pbcc.edu account. Activate your account today.

5. A.A. and B.A.S. degree requirements (formerly known as College Level Academic Skills Test - CLAST): The Florida State Legislature removed the CLAST requirement as of July 1, 2009. In order to be granted an Associate in Arts or baccalaureate degree, a student must meet certain criteria to satisfy the skills areas of Mathematics, Essay, English, Language Skills and Reading.

Go to www.pbcc.edu/clas.xml to review the new information on the exit requirements for an AA or BAS degree.

6. Financial Aid --You can view the latest Financial Aid news and tips at http://www.pbcc.edu/documents/financial_aid/FANews.pdf.

Deadline to apply is August 28, 2009

Last year the PBCC Foundation gave more than $1.9 million in scholarship money. Go to www.pbcc.edu/x11986.xml for more information and the application.

7. See your academic advisor early for the Spring term. You can access the advisement contact information at http://www.pbcc.edu/x1279.xml.

Advisor are available on each campus so don't delay; plan your academic schedule early.
