Student Clubs & Organization at the Boca Raton Campus

Palm Beach Community College offers students the opportunity to become actively involved with award winning clubs and organizations, by promoting the development of leadership skills, challenging special interests and encouraging interaction with other students.

Beachcomber (Student Newspaper)
 
The Beachcomber is an organization intended to unify our campus community. It is used as a medium to communicate information and express student opinion both generally and individually. The college paper is not just appropriate for journalism majors, it's appropriate for all students. Involvement opportunities range from artistry, writing, and photography to copy editing, lay out, and advertising.


Black Student Association
 
BSA promotes interest and awareness of people of African heritage, encourages fellowship, and seeks to help students develop a sense of responsibility for our college and community. Everyone is welcome!


Brain Bowl

Brain Bowl is an intercollegiate team competition utilizing curriculum-based questions generated by community college faculty throughout the State of Florida. The team competes with other community colleges in annual regional and state tournaments. Selection for the five team members begins midway in the Spring academic term for practices throughout the following Fall term. Tournaments are held in the early Spring term. Practices, scrimmages, and competitions are challenging and enjoyable. Scholarships are available to students who are selected for the team.


Chabad Student Center
 
Seeks to promote the Jewish religion within the community and serve as a home away from home for Jewish students by providing support and enhancing networking.  


Christian Leadership Association
 
Aims to enhance student leadership abilities through Christ centered, spiritual development. Everyone is welcome! 


Computer Club South (CCS)
 
Whether your interest lies in software, hardware, internet, website design, computer networking, or robotics. Join Computer Club South!
 

Djakout Lakay 
 
Promotes interest and awareness of Haitian heritage, encourages fellowship and seeks to help students develop a sense of responsibility for our college and community. Everyone is welcome!


Florida Future Educators of America (FFEA)
 
Interested in a career in education? FFEA is the club for you. It will inform you of career opportunities, leadership skills and college to community relations. Come on and join!


Intramural and Recreational Activities

Intramural sports and activities are offered during the Fall and Spring terms on the Boca Raton campus.  Recreational activities vary from term to term depending upon the interest of students, faculty, and staff. Offerings include but are not limited to: Volleyball, Basketball, Wellness/Fitness Center, Tennis, Table Tennis, Pool, and much more. All students are encouraged to join!

Lean, Clean and Green Ecology Club

The Lean, Clean and Green Club is devoted to raising consciousness on campus regarding issues of ecology, resource maintenance, and sustainability defined as meeting contemporary needs without compromising the ability of future stakeholders to satisfy their needs.  LCG hosts an annual campus clean up, movie events, and impacts recycling policy campus wide. 

Phi Theta Kappa (International Honor Society, P.T.K.)
 
P.T.K. recognizes and encourages scholarship and development of leadership, service, and academic excellence. Admission by invitation only.


Political Forum Club
 
The PBCC South Political Forum Club promotes the sharing of ideas on local and national politics, increase political awareness via debates and club activities among members and non members of the student population and sponsor talks from experts on issues of local, national and international concern.


Spanish and Latino Student Association (S.A.L.S.A.) 

S.A.L.S.A. seeks to increase the awareness of Spanish heritage, promote fellowship, and develop a sense of responsibility in our college and community through on-and-off campus events.


Student Government Association
 
Student Government generates campus activities enhancing student life. SGA also serves as a liaison between students, administration, faculty, and staff. All students are encouraged to join!


Students for Israel (Hillel)
 
Seeks to educate and increase awareness of Jewish culture and tradition, evaluate issues facing Israel, and form relationships with fellow students locally and internationally. Everyone is welcome!


Women's Center 

The Women’s Center provides opportunities to develop leadership skills, explore career options and facilitate a greater understanding of community, both locally and internationally, through service projects and other community outreach programming. Everyone is welcome!

Dream It Do It (Adult Student Association)

Dream it, Do It is the Adult Student Association and members are normally 25 years old or over.  This club provides motivational, emotional, financial and positive support for PBCC’s men and women who are transitioning from a career or home to reach for the stars and do what they have dreamed of doing.  The club benefits PBCC and the community both with community service and the recruitment / retention of non-traditional students.   Dream It Do It meets monthly, shares information through newsletters and invites instructional speakers to address the group. Members actively participate in college and community volunteer activities and share their accomplishments through the newsletter.
