1. Did you know that the Florida Legislature changed the state statute regarding Bright Futures Awards for the Fall semester? The awards will no longer cover 100% tuition and fees. Students will now receive a flat fee per credit hour. Therefore, after their award has been granted by PBCC, it is very important that all Bright Futures recipients print their class schedules. If there is a fee balance due, the fee amount must be paid on or before the payment due date to prevent the classes from being dropped (deleted) from the student's schedule.

Also the state statute has been changed in regards to withdrawal of classes. Bright Futures scholarship recipients will now be required to reimburse the College for the award amount received for any courses withdrawn after the add/drop period. Therefore, before withdrawing from any classes, it is very important that students check with an advisor and/or financial aid to see how it will affect their Bright Futures Award.
