Coming in January 2010
Florida Child Care Professional Certificate (FCCPC)

9/14/09

Dear Early Childhood Practitioner,

PBCC has developed a Florida Child Care Professional Certificate (FCCPC) course called "Caring for Children, Birth to 3 Years." This program targets center-based and family child care providers who work with infants and toddlers. The student who completes the course will be awarded a Florida Child Care Professional Certificate (FCCPC) from the Department of Children and Families. This certificate will meet the Quality Counts staff credential requirement for both center based and family child care benchmark, and will transfer to PBCC for nine hours of college credit after the successful completion of 15 hours of college credit. The program includes 120 hours of infant/toddler specialized coursework, 480 hours of documented work experience, a resource file and professional portfolio and two hour on-site observation during Modules I and III in an infant/toddler classroom setting. Cassandra Wilbanks from the Institute of Excellence in Early Care and Education is to be the instructor. The coursework will begin in January 2010. Contact Cassandra Wilbanks 561-868-3676. The coursework is eligible for SEEK scholarship.
