What is the Green Pledge

Imagine this:

What difference could be made if hundreds of thousands, or millions, of students entering the workforce investigated the ethics of their potential employers? Would some choose a different employer? Or simply "work from within" to improve their company's impacts?

About the grad pledge

The grad pledge began in 1987 at Humboldt State University in Arcata, California. Since then, the pledge has spread to hundreds of colleges and universities. While it has been in existence at Stanford in years past, this year we’re bringing the pledge back.

It’s a simple concept. Students "pledge to explore and take into account the social and environmental consequences of any job [they] consider and will try to improve these aspects of any organizations for which [they] work." Students define for themselves what it means to be socially and environmentally responsible, as well as their level of commitment.

From the grassroots to the financial empires, you can make a positive difference.

The possibilities are endless.
