She has almost 30 years of experience in small business and the legal system, working within the public and private sectors. Nationally and internationally, as a primarty trainer with Mediation Training Group, Elinor has taught mediation to over 5000 students. And, she has mediated thousands of commercial, family, criminal, community, & workplace disputes.

Earlier this year, Elinor expanded her mediation practice when she partnered with her husband David, a recovering lawyer, and the two of them started A Friendly Divorce. Together they use a unique co-mediation model that offers a divorcing couple a chance to make their divorce as easy and painless as possible. David and Elinor work with a divorcing couple, without attorneys, to design an agreement that covers the couple's future finances and any issues related to their children. After preparing the agreement, they fill-in the forms that are required by the court and then the case can be set as an uncontested divorce.

This process enables the couples that they work with to save thousands of dollars and avoid unnecessary grief. Elinor is Vice-President (Family) of the Florida Academy of Professional Mediators and a Past-President of the Association of South Florida Mediators and Arbitrators. She is a member of the Florida Supreme Court's Mediation Training Review Board and she has been appointed to the Florida Supreme Court's ADR Rules and Policy Committee's Sub Committee on Domestic Violence.
