America's original multi-cultural dance company! Founders Desmond Richardson and Dwight Rhoden, along with their New York City-based company of dance thoroughbreds--there are roughly twenty incredibly trained classical and contemporary dancers in the company--have awakened audiences to a new, exciting genre that combines the best of athleticism, lyricism, and technique.

"Hailed as two of the greatest virtuosos ever to emerge from Ailey land - Dwight Rhoden and Desmond Richardson" - The New York Times

"Rhoden's work is post-Balanchinean choreography, a new aesthetic in movement, stage picture, and performance concepts reflecting a post-modern, techno-savvy worldview."- Dance Magazine

Alston himself is one of the icons of British modern dance. "An artist at the top of his game... emotion as an emollient, smoothing the lines of movement into a luscious whole... optimistic rhythms finding their happy counterpart in the compassionate, sensual pairings... flushed with romance and melancholic thought, like a dream of lost love experienced far from home." - London Times

Piloboluspilobolus
Friday & Saturday,
April 16 & 17 @ 8PM

Enjoying unprecedented popularity following appearances on the 2007 Academy Awards® and in 2008 on OPRAH, Pilobolus has developed from an ad hoc dance collective which began as an experiment among three men and one open-minded professor in a Dartmouth dance class in 1971, into a unique American arts organization that is dedicated to the choreography and performance of dance-theater works at the highest level of imagination and energy. From these humble, exploratory beginnings has emerged an innovative dance company that combines athleticism, grace and humor with an inspirational sense of harmony. Still evolving after 38 years, Pilobolus bridges pop culture and the cultural arts to create an unforgettable experience. Today Pilobolus is recognized as a major American dance company of international influence.

"Pilobolus is a mind-blowing troupe of wildly creative and physically daring dancers who leap, fly, intertwine and break all the rules... Audiences should expect the unexpected with Pilobolus." - NYC Newsday
