Associate in Science/Applied Science The BAS degree is structured to make maximum use of the credits from your associate in science or applied science degree. You will receive 42 credits from your AS/AAS degree "core" courses. General education will comprise 36 hours of the BAS degree. Typically, your AS/AAS degree will have, at a minimum, 18 hours of general education courses that you already have completed. You may take the additional 18 hours of general education courses along with your BAS courses, or you may complete the courses before you start BAS program. The remaining 42 hours of courses are junior/senior level courses (upper division courses). These upper division courses include 21 hours of "core" courses that all BAS students take, and 21 hours of concentration area courses that help prepare you for your professional field.
