Scholarship Information

Summer Youth College (SYC) provides unique, high quality, accessible, affordable, safe, entertaining and educational summer activities and learning opportunities for local middle school youth through a dedicated and knowledgeable faculty and staff.

There are limited scholarship opportunities at Summer Youth College - Belle Glade. Scholarships are awarded on a first come basis only and scholarship recipients must enroll in the entire SYC program.

To apply for a scholarship, a family in need of financial aid must write a letter indicating their circumstances and why assistance is necessary. A family must meet one of the following criteria to be considered:

  • Loss of job, single parent with inadequate support, medical hardship, etc.

  • The child currently receives free or reduced lunch at his/her school (provide a copy of the eligibilty letter)

  • One or both of the parents are students at PBCC (include parent's PBCC student ID number)

  • All students must submit a copy of their final report card.

Scholarship letters of interest must be submitted and must include day and evening contact telephone numbers and an email address if one is available. Letters should be mailed to:

All students, even scholarship recipients, will be required to pay a $20 camp activity/material fee.
