What CPT scores do I need to be eligible for college level courses?

ENC 1101 - College Composition I................... 83 + (both Reading & English)

ENC 1121-Honors College Composition I......... (90 + Reading & 100 + English)

MAT 1033 - Intermediate Algebra...................  (72 + or successful completeion of MAT 0020)

What CPT scores place me into college prep courses?

REA 0001 - College Prep Reading ........... ( 0 TO 60)

REA 0002 - College Prep Reading II.......... (61 TO 82)

Exempt from REA Prep .........................83 +

ENC 0001 - College Prep English I ............ (0 TO 60)

ENC 0010 - College Prep English II............ (61 TO 82)

Exempt from ENC Prep........................... 83 +

MAT 0012 Basic Algebra I............................ 0 TO 44

MAT 0020 Basic Algebra II........................... 45 TO 71

Exempt from MAT Prep......................72 +

What can I do if I tested into Prep Math?

What test are students required to take for English Proficiency?

COMPASS ESL Test...passing score...69+

Next step: If Degree Seeking...take Accuplacer CPT

Exempt from CPT/EAP Prep Courses..83+

OR

If Non-Degree Seeking....can be placed into Language Institute Courses

Depending on the COMPASS ESL score a student may be placed into the Language Institute Courses or be eligible to take the Accuplacer College Placement Test and place into CPT/EAP Prep Courses or College Credit Courses.

Passing the COMPASS ESL test enables a student to take the Accuplacer College Placement Test (CPT).

Note: Students who are degree seeking and whose primary language is not English, and test into preparatory Reading and/or English are required to take EAP preparatory courses. 

All DEGREE SEEKING STUDENTS WHO TEST INTO ENGLISH, or READING or MATH PREP ARE REQUIRED TO ENROLL IN SLS 1501 Strategies For College Success.

** An Academic Advisor will assist you with course selection.
