"After graduating from Florida Atlantic University, I realized I needed more experience in the Biotech world in order to obtain a decent job. After only a semester in the Biotech program at Palm Beach Community College, I have learned and seen more than all my years at any other institution. I am extremely impressed with the Biotech program here at Palm Beach Community College. The hands on experience and the teaching faculty is unequivocally the best education I have ever received. The faculty is extremely helpful in making sure I will be preparted for my future. Without a doubt I am confident that by completing the courses here at Palm Beach Community College, I will reach that level of experience that I need to perform all lab techniques on my own and to obtain an entry level position in the professional field." Lorena Rincon, B.S. Biology, Florida Atlantic University, PBCC Biotech Student "PBCC's Biotechnology Program has not only given me a solid, comprehensive education on all aspects of biotechnology, but also opened doors to internship and job opportunities I may not have achieved without having previously obtained this knowledge. This summer I completed an internship at the Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute in Biomedical/Marine Microbiology, the basis of which was pure biotechnology, and my PBCC Biotech program classes pulled me through with ease." Betty Dietsch, PBCC Biotech graduate "As a second-year biotech student at PBCC, I am very pleased with PBCC's biotechnology program. The lectures are well-paced, very informative, and I feel like I have learned a lot during lectures. Just this semester alone, I have been to biotechnology seminars, biotechnology laboratories, and talked with both business people and scientists currently working in the biotechnology field. In addition, I am receiving a lot of hands-on experience during lab, with equipment and techniques that I have seen being used in teh Biotechnology laboratories that I have visited. After taking just Introduction to Biotechnology and while currently in Biotechnology 1, I can walk into lecture and easily understand what my professor is saying. I can walk into lab and be very comfortable with their equipment, know what I am doing, finish my lab in a timely manner, and even weeks later I can walk up to the board in front of my classmates and fully explain to them the experience, the procedure I followed, and teh conclusion of the experient that I did that day with no problem. I have absolutely no problem with paying my tuition on time, in full, because I can actually see my tuition is being placed back into the Biotechnology program at PBCC, ranging from something as simple as laboratory supplies to the new equipment being placed in the lab, to even the new laboratory being built on campus for the biotechnology program. At the end, I feel like my tuition is more like an investment towards myself, in the form of an increase in skills and education that will prove useful to me in the future, and that means a lot to me." Salil Maharaj, Biotech student "Our program is awesome. These classes really open our view to the latest technology in the world. Plus, it is fun to do the experiments. The program has provided me the opportunity to study and work in the field that I really like." Yiqun Ding, Biotech student "Palm Beach Community College inspired me to enroll in their biotechnology program due to their highly educated teaching staff, and the one-on-one personal hands-on attention offered in each class. The program offered me the opportunity for an internship at a reputable local biotech company, which helped further my knowledge and experience in the laboratory. I just can't thank Palm Beach Community College enough for the exciting changes their Biotechnology program has brought to my life, and I am proud to have been a part of it." Clint Chalk, PBCC Biotech graduate "My name is Scott Novick and I am pursuing a career in the biosciences. I cannot overemphasize how impressed I have been with the curriculum offered at PBCC. All of my biotechnology professors have been PhD's with extensive real world experience in many fields of research. I am currently in the midst of an internship at the Scripps Research Institute and would never have been able to carry my weight here without the education I received over the last two years. I owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to all my professors, and I am confident that I will have a distinct advantage over my fellow students as I continue my education at Florida Atlantic University."
