Jan. 11 & 12, 2008, 8PM

Experience modern dance that is exhilarating, uplifting, and a miracle of life. Never performed in its entirety outside the New York/Philadelphia area, PHILADANCO will reconstruct the Talley Beatty classic Southern Landscapes. This extraordinary work, one of the first choreographed by the late Mr. Beatty, will tour to limited venues across the country this season. The New York Times critic, Jennifer Dunning states that PHILADANCO is "A company of happy, invigorating contrast...a venerable institution...but has not lost its youthful verve or the freshness of its strong technical grounding." Dance magazine says, “PHILADANCO’s dancers are a miracle of shill and energy. They work in a range of idioms… a company that can do more than just anything. It can represent the possibilities of the human spirit through dance.”
Tickets: $35, $29

Coleman Lemieux & Compagnie photo
Coleman Lemieux & Compagnie
Friday & Saturday
February 1 & 2, 2008, 8PM

Coleman Lemieux & Compagnie (CLC) is a marriage – first of all, between its Artistic Directors, internationally renowned dancers/choreographers Bill Coleman and Laurence Lemieux, also between urban and rural, stage and community, tradition and innovation, art and the wider world. Based in Montreal, CLC creates collaborations in dance, music and the visual arts – performances that transcend boundaries through movement, dialogue and celebration, drawing on both conventional theatrical forms and innovative community-based approaches. “…the Montreal-based Coleman Lemieux & Compagnie… excited the crowd, performing an excerpt from Fifteen Heterosexual Duets…the dancers ably embodied the characters, but it was their execution that dazzled – the split-second timing during complex partnering and the gratifying lightness of the low-to-the-ground leaps and lifts.” – The New York Sun
