Cesar Garcia exhibit “Beyond Perception”

An exhibit of 17 original works by Cuban-born artist Cesar Garcia titled “Beyond Perception” will be at The Gallery at Eissey from May 13 through Sept. 5. The opening reception and artist lecture is Tuesday, May 13 from 5 – 8 p.m. Born in Havana, Cuba in 1961, Garcia moved to the United States with his family in 1969. His initiation into the art world was through his uncle, a classically trained artist, and has never forgotten those creative moments he experienced as a child in his uncle’s studio; images that live and are always a part of him. Garcia is a self-taught artist who uses ethnic influences from his homeland to create surrealist oil paintings rich in symbolism, figures, forms and language as an expression of ultimate intimacy. Summer hours for The Gallery at Eissey Campus are 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Mon. – Thurs. and 9 a.m. – noon on Friday.

Where: The Gallery at Eissey Campus - BB Building
