Dr. Ress had a vision of starting an educational program for retired persons using retired volunteer faculty who teach with a passion. Not only has her dream been fully realized, it has surpassed all expectations. The Center is guided in all its operations by an autonomous Board of Directors. The program is unique in that it allows for classes to begin on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. This year the Center hopes to offer over 130 courses, forums, lectures, and events taught by over 50 volunteer faculty, board members as well as visiting lecturers. The Center also holds neighborhood forums in local libraries and an annual Burning Issues Symposium. There is a Speakers Bureau offering lectures to the community on a broad range of topics.
