General Overview

As a starting point, we have gathered information to assist you in planning your next event. The following policies and procedures have been developed to ensure we can fulfill your event expectations in a timely and efficient manner. Please contact the Catering Department at (561) 868-3068 if you have any questions regarding these guidelines.

  • The College Café will not provide any food or service if an outside caterer is being utilized for any part of an event. Outside caterers must provide all food, beverages, utensils, condiments; room set up and clean up.

  • The College Café refrigeration equipment may not be used by any outside vendor due to Health Department regulations.

  • Minimum order after hours and weekends - $300.

Requests/Confirmation/Guarantees

  • Requests for catering must be made in writing at least seven (7) working days in advance for all catered events to ensure that all items can be ordered and received on time. We understand that last minute needs do arise, and we will attempt to provide all requested services within the time and physical capabilities of the personnel and facilities. (College Café Catering Request Form)

  • Once a request is received, you will receive a proposal sheet outlining the catering services to be provided. This proposal must be signed and sent back to the Catering Department.

  • All final changes, including the minimum guaranteed guest count, must take place at least 2 business days prior to your function. If you do not confirm your final count within the 2 business days allowed, we will prepare for the estimated number. You will be billed for 100% of your guaranteed count or the actual number, whichever is greater.

  • If your event is cancelled, you are responsible for contacting the Catering Department to notify us of the cancellation. You will be responsible for 75 % of your food bill for any event that is not cancelled, in writing, within 2 working days of the function.

  • All events that will have participants / guests (groups of 10 or more) using the Dining Hall for catering must also inform the Catering Department 7 days prior to the event date.

Payment

  • All catered functions for individuals and non-college related groups are required to make a 50 percent down deposit one week prior to the event. Payment in full is required within 30 days after the event. Personal checks (checks can be made payable to College Café), credit cards (MasterCard and Visa) and cash are valid payment methods.

Equipment

  • You are responsible for the catering equipment we have provided for the service of your event. Any missing or damaged catering equipment or supplies will be charged to your account, at replacement costs.

Linens

  • The College Café will provide linens for all food and beverage tables at no charge.

  • Standard dining tablecloths for guest tables, napkins, and special order linens are available.

Group Size

  • The College Café can accommodate groups of up to 1000 for buffet-style meals, served meals, coffee services or receptions.

  • Buffet-style functions are priced for groups of 10 or more. Pricing is determined on an individual basis for functions with less than 10 attendees. Receptions and buffet-style meals are designed for self service.

  • For served-style functions, pricing is determined on an individual basis.

Additional Charges and Information

  • There will be a charge of $22.00 per hour (5-hour minimum) for each catering attendant present at an event.

  • Due to food safety and liabilities associated with proper food handling, perishable prepared foods may not be removed from the site of the event. The College Café assumes no liability if any persons attending the event remove food.

  • Prices are subject to change, as market conditions dictate.
