Scholarship Requirements

Scholarship recipients must

  1. Submit a TASHE application and agreement prior to admission to the Teacher Certification Program in order to receive the scholarship;
  2. Be continuously enrolled at PBCC and maintain a 3.0 GPA in all Educator Preparation Institute (EPI) courses;
  3. Provide official transcripts to PBCC Admissions Office of all colleges and universities previously attended before the end of the first term at PBCC;
  4. Comply with the administrative guidelines for the program including participation in the mentor component; 
  5. Provide written notification to the TASHE office and PBCC within twenty-one (21) days of any changes in legal name, address, email address, and telephone number;
  6. Successfully complete all coursework, tests, and program requirements to obtain professional teaching certificate; 
  7. Make a teaching commitment of 3 consecutive years with the School District of Palm Beach County (SDPBC) at a high need school
  8. Notify TASHE of employment on a yearly basis (subject areas, grade level, school name, location, principal, and contact information) until teaching commitment of 3 years is satisfied;  
  9. Fulfill a repayment obligation if you: 
    • leave for any reason before completing all program requirements;
    • are inactive for one year in TCP;
    • are removed from TCP for misconduct;
    • remain employed by the SDPBC but choose to move to a school that is not a high need school during the “teaching commitment” time period;
    • leave the SDPBC during the “teaching commitment” time period.
