Planned Maintenance Windows for PBCC and Blackboard.com Services
These windows are to alert users to future downtime to college and/or Blackboard systems. These maintenance windows are held in reserve for support needs and users should not schedule any work during these windows.

Scheduled maintenance windows - Blackboard may be unavailable during these periods:

• PBCC Maintenance Window: every Thursday from 2am-8am
  • Announcements by date
    • Thursday, July 30th - PBCC Information Technology will be using the maintenance window this Thursday morning (7/30) to move some equipment. Our Internet connection will be down and it will impact Bb users.
    • Thursday, July 16th - PBCC will be doing some equipment configurations during this maintenance window. Blackboard users should not experience any issues but please advise us of any performance issues.
      • Courses using the video streaming services: equipment will be offline beginning at 12midnight and should be available at 8am on Thursday, July 16, 2009.
        
• Blackboard.com Maintenance Window: every Friday from 3am-7am unless otherwise noted...
  • Announcements by date
    • Thursday, August 6th beginning at 2am - 6am - emergency maintenance to address a security issue.  During this time you will experience a brief downtime of a few minutes as we restart services.  As a precaution, we advise that you inform your faculty and students to expect intermittent service interruptions during this maintenance window.
    • Saturday, August 1st beginning at 8am - completed at 3pm - Blackboard Support completed the replacement of hardware at the datacenter.
    • Wednesday, July 22nd at 5:30pm - Blackboard Support will be restarting one of the two application servers. Some users (not all) may see an interruption of services for approximately 20-30 minutes. Blackboard Support will be monitoring the server re-start.
    • Friday, July 24th - In preparations for '''Back to School 2009''' our Managed Hosting Engineers will be performing maintenance on your hosted Blackboard environments; the purpose of this maintenance is to proactively perform needed maintenance on the existing infrastructure in our VA2 datacenter. This maintenance is expected to take place on Friday July 24th, 2009 from 03:00am to 7:00am US Eastern. During this window service interruptions are expected for all systems.
    • Monday, July 13th - issues occurred from 12:48pm until 5:12pm. ISP provider to Blackboard reported network related issues and traffic to the datacenter was redirected until the issue was resolved.
    • Thursday, July 9th starting at 3:00am to 7:00am US Eastern. This maintenance is not expected to effect your end users during this period.
