| . . . began as a concept in the fall of 2006. At that time, faculty and students came together, interested in starting a special kind of magazine, a combined literary and art journal that spotlighted exclusively the creative work of students. Our goal soon became to marry as many creative mediums as possible, and we hope the initial publication of the Palm Beach Review, which puts together student artwork and literature, does just that.
We believe the goal of the magazine has been realized; in our pages, readers will find work by some of our best, brightest, and most creative students. The work is compelling and powerful, sometimes edgy, other times quiet and serene, and we think both the artwork and writing we have been able to cull together for this issue of the magazine represents the large and diverse student body of Palm Beach Community College. We are hopeful as we make this offering to the larger community and indeed to the world here on the Web that our readers are proud of, encouraged by, and enlightened and even changed by the works they encounter within the review. We are exceptionally pleased with this our inaugural issue, and we look forward to continuing to publish what we hope is the very best creative work our student body has to offer. We appreciate greatly the opportunity to do so and hope our readers share our excitement. So, without further ado, on behalf of the entire editorial staff, I proudly present. . .
