Welcome to Palm Beach Community’s Diversity Website.
This site has been developed to communicate how important diversity is at our College. The College’s Board of Trustees, President, administrators, faculty and students believe that “diversity should be embraced as a reflection of society and should enhance the educational process.” Diversity is a strategic priority. President Dennis P. Gallon and the College’s leadership team have included diversity in decisions that affect the students, faculty and staff at PBCC. Aggressive recruitment and retention strategies are being implemented to continuously address the underrepresented populations among our employees and students.
Institutional equity and diversity are the driving forces of ensuring that strategies are in place to move the college forward in reaching its goal to provide equal access and equal opportunity to all students, employees and the residents of Palm Beach County, regardless of ones race, color, creed, ethnicity, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion, marital status, veteran status, or disability.
The information on our diversity website focuses on the components of the College’s Diversity Plan. These components coincide with the strategies of the College’s Strategic Plan. The components are: the demographic data of the college and of Palm Beach County, diversity celebrations and programs, diversity training, and community outreach, including the W/MBE and Small Business Programs and the community forum. The website also includes links to sites for information on the Florida Equity Act, the College’s Policies on nondiscrimination, harassment and complaint procedures, and all other Board Policies.
We hope you will take time to check out our website and to give us your feedback. Your feedback may be forward to the Ardease G. Johnson, Equity Officer, Office of Human Resources, Palm Beach Community College, 4200 Congress Avenue, Lake Worth, Florida 33461.
